SOLO EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS
BY SHANNON MOYER-SZEMENYEI
APRIL 3 - APRIL 26 2014
Exhibition Dates: April 3 to April 26, 2014
Opening Reception Thursday April 3, 2014
‘PURPOSE’ is an exhibition of paintings in acrylic on canvas. The artist states ‘we look inward as we seek to uncover our purpose’. Passion? Truth? Balance? Perhaps all, perhaps none. A moment in time, a moment of purpose; captured in paint on canvas.
Shannon graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a BA in History and Fine Art. After two solo exhibitions in 2006, she started to paint purely for the love of it and to hone her skills as an artist…to find her style, technique and become an expert in her chosen medium; acrylic.
Shannon uses her art as an opportunity to heal past wounds, and inspire others to heal. She loses herself in the drips and flows of the paint, the dry brush strokes and the fluidity created when different mediums mix together. She loses herself, and finds herself at the same time.
