Osvaldo Napoli was born in Montevideo Uruguay, migrated to Toronto in 1975 and currently resides in Richmond Hill Ontario. He attended OCAD in the 80s and took courses in the Art Department in Central Technical School. In 1984 he befriended Canadian sculptor writer and philosopher Sorel Etrog, and had the privilege to be mentored by him for 3 decades. Mr. Etrog has been instrumental in expanding his awareness about sculpture and art as a whole.
‘My inspiration for most of my work is people and society as a whole. This body of work highlights social trends in the digital age and its side effects, and also explores the co-existence between humanity and technology which is such an immense part of our lives. In hindsight it begs the question: where will we find ourselves in the future, considering the velocity in which we are evolving alongside it. I can’t help wondering what's in store for humanity and the world in these exciting times E-poque.’
This is Ozzie’s 2nd Solo Exhibition at URBAN GALLERY, and he also exhibited in our group show WILD IN THE CITY in July 2018.
