WHAT’S UP WITH PLUTO?!

Solo Exhibition by Hélène Asselbergs

October 3 – 31, 2013

Hélène Asselbergs paints in an abstract expressionist style, playing with mixed media to attract light and manifest movement to her works, sometimes using a combination of sparkle dust, modeling clay, and other media such as flax seeds and freshwater pearls.

Her solo exhibition at URBAN GALLERY What’s Up With Pluto?! is about welcoming the energies that connect us on earth through to the far ends of the universe. Some energies are fast-moving, with great pomp and circumstance while other energies move with subtlety, giving us just a chance to catch a glimmer out of the corner of our eye. But no matter how bold or discreet, we are connected by moving energies around us and that is a great thing.

Artist Statement:

Let’s dance with the energy that connects us, shall we?
